NORTH Sydney Council’s general manager Warwick Winn has resigned.
Mr Winn offered his resignation to Mayor Jilly Gibson this morning and is set to join a council in Victoria.
He is expected to finish at North Sydney in early April after two years in the role.
Mr Winn has held the top spot at the council during a turbulent time that has seen a series of interventions by the State Government.
It has been threatened with suspension and a public inquiry was recently announced to look into allegations of “conflict” and “dysfunction”.
The council is currently facing amalgamation with its neighbours under State Government plans to overhaul local government.
Mr Winn has worked on plans to rejuvenate the area with projects at several sites including the North Sydney Oval and Olympic Pool.
Mr Winn has been appointed the chief executive officer of Manningham Council.
