A CYCLIST is in a critical condition after an accident at The Spit this morning.
He was treated for a head injury by emergency workers and rushed to Royal North Shore Hospital by ambulance.
A hospital spokeswoman said he is in a “critical but stable” condition.
Witnesses told police the 45-year-old man had just exited the bridge when he lost control of his bicycle and fell off.
A motorcyclist travelling behind also came off his bike to avoid colliding with the cyclist, police said. The motorcyclist was not injured.
The accident happened at about 8.30am south of the bridge. The injured man is from Manly Vale.
