Four candidates will challenge the long-held seat of Bradfield MP Paul Fletcher at next month’s election.
The Minister for Families has held Bradfield since a 2009 by-election, after the retirement of former Federal MP Brendan Nelson.
Bradfield is regarded a very safe seat for the Liberals, with Mr Fletcher receiving 61 per cent of the vote before preferences in 2016.
Any change in representation would be highly unlikely when residents on Sydney’s upper and lower north shore vote on Saturday, May 18.
In Wednesday’s ballot draw, five candidates were confirmed — the Greens’ Tony Adams, Liberal incumbent Paul Fletcher, United Australia’s Marcus Versace, Stephen Molloy from Sustainable Australia and long-time Labor Party member Chris Haviland.
Newcomers to the field were Wahroonga’s Tony Adams, Seven Hills’ Marcus Versace and St Ives’ Stephen Molloy, who also ran at this year’s state election.
Asquith’s Chris Haviland previously ran as a Labor Party candidate in 2013, and is also a former Federal MP for Macarthur.
