Artarmon stabbing: Daniel Norwood charged with attempted murder of Shubham Garg
A man who allegedly stabbed another male multiple times to the face, chest and abdomen in Sydney’s lower North Shore has appeared in court for the first time.

A 27-year-old man who allegedly stabbed a young man multiple times near a major highway can be named after his charges were mentioned in court for the first time.
Daniel Norwood, of Gosford, is charged with the attempted murder after Shubham Garg, 28, allegedly suffered multiple stab wounds to the face, chest and abdomen in Sydney’s affluent lower North Shore on Thursday morning.
Police will allege the atttack took place when Mr Garg was walking along the Pacific Hwy at Artarmon.
At Hornsby Local Court on Monday, Norwood appeared via videolink and did not apply for bail.
Norwood has not yet entered any pleas to the charge of attempted murder.
According to documents tendered to court, the alleged stabbing occurred between 10:20am and 10:40am on October 6, with court documents stating Norwood “(stabbed) the victim … multiple times with the intent to murder”.
Police will allege after Mr Garg was stabbed he fled to a nearby house and sought help before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital to undergo surgery.
He remains there in a serious but stable condition.
Strike Force Prosy was formed by North Shore Police Area Command detectives to investigate the stabbing.
Following extensive inquiries, a search warrant was executed on a home on the Pacific Hwy at Greenwich about 3.40pm on Sunday.
Norwood was arrested at the property and taken to Chatswood police station where he was charged with one count of attempted murder.
A number of items were seized from the home and have been taken for forensic examination.
The 27-year-old is due to return to court for brief service on December 14.
