Gould, 17, of Killara, was selected in Swimming Australia's National Event Camp on the Gold Coast.
The camp included the Australian swimming team and talented swimmers who have been identified as possible contenders for the 2016 Olympics games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The Year 12 Ravenswood School for Girls student said it was a thrill to rub shoulders and train alongside the country's leading middle distance swimmers including Kylie Palmer and Bronte Barratt.
"It was really tough especially training with all those girls who are extremely fast," she said.
"It was good to see how I measured up."
The Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre Club swimmer bagged five medals at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival at Homebush.
She captured a brace of golds and set new meet records in the 200m and 400m freestyle before adding three silvers in the 800m freestyle and 4 x 200m relay and 4 x 100m relay.
She clocked a personal best time of 1:59.79 in the 200m freestyle and 4:12.67 in the 400m freestyle.
The teenager will compete in the world championship trials in May.
