Sydney’s newest racetrack, the Luddenham Raceway, is nearing completion, with stage one expected to be finished shortly.
Construction began in April this year and raceway marketing and promotions manager Maria Vukmirica said it had been a long but exciting road so far.
“We had some terrible weather, which set us back. The tracks themselves have been laid for over a month now and we are also working on stage two, the car track and driver training facility,” Ms Vukmirica said.
Over the next few weeks the team will finalise the construction of the visitor centre and the conference facilities before getting its own karts on the track.
“We plan on getting our karts off the pallets that they were shipped here from Europe and have the technicians tune them and gear them up for their new home track next week,” she said.
“Then there’s the installation of all the tech equipment, timing system and traffic lighting system on the track, and then showtime.”
Stage one consists of the Karting Centre with the Pro Circuit and the Junior Racers circuit complete with Rookie Clubhouse.
“Visitors can expect to visit a motorsport haven that has been created by motorsport enthusiasts,” Ms Vukmirica said.
“Not only will visitors get the newest and latest in equipment and technology they will be part of the vibe created here by a very dedicated team.”
