MOSMAN Physie Club athletes continued their dominance in the Bjelke-Petersen Physical Culture Junior National Finals.
Emma Baldwin won the 10-year-old division, her third national title, and Sienna Norman won the eight-year-old division, her second national title.
The Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre hosted the BjP Junior Nationals.
Mosman Physie Club secretary Lesley Quinn said everyone was delighted with Emma and Sienna’s achievements.
“The club is thrilled with the success of the girls,” she said.
“Both girls had to go through rigorous heats, semis and finals to achieve the ultimate prize.
“It is a demanding agenda which requires not only skill and tireless energy, but great concentration.
“It was no surprise that these girls were equal to the task.
“Emma and Sienna not only have great talent, but they love physie and this shines through in all their routines.”
Emma previously won the nine-year-old and six-year-old national titles. Sienna was also six-year-old national champion.
Emma, a Mosman Daily Junior Sports Star nominee, said she was “really surprised” to have won consecutive championships.
“I was really nervous before the competition and I was quite nervous to hear the results, but I was really happy and excited,” she said.
“I’m just really grateful to my teachers for all their help.
“All of the girls had qualified through being in the top five in their zones, so everyone there was really good.
“There were 74 girls there from 14 different zones across the country.”
Mosman Physie Club also celebrated its athletes’ other placings at nationals: Aspen Vernon, fifth in the six-year-old division and Kyra McCusker, fifth in the 10-year-old division.
