North Shore MP Felicity Wilson and husband Sam Ison have welcomed a little baby girl into the world.

Eleanor arrived shortly after Christmas Day and both mum and daughter are doing well.

“She has us wrapped around her little finger,” Ms Wilson said.

Eleanor was five days overdue and was delivered by caesearian section at the Mater Hospital in North Sydney on December 28th. She weighed 3.45 kilos and was 52cm.

The couple are at home in Cremorne caring for their bundle of joy and the sleepless nights have been eased by the cricket matches on TV.

Ms Wilson paid tribute to the staff at the hospital for their excellent care.

“We had such a wonderful experience and we are so grateful. It is surprising how tough the first days are,” she said.

The couple chose the name Eleanor as it is associated with several strong women in history.
