ACTOR and singer Lochie Kent of Mosman has his eye on two major roles — Spiderman and Hamlet.
“That’s my dream,’’ said Kent.
It’s not surprising the former Redlands student aspires to such disparate characters.
At 18, he is young enough to be open to Shakespeare or superheroes.
Meanwhile, Kent is the star rapper in a new video designed for children aged six to 12.
“It ‘s a really cool video for kids who are too young for videos from Justin Bieber or Mylie Cyrus but too old for Play School and the Wiggles,” Kent said.
The video is about a donkey called Pinky Ponky.
“It’s about a cool donkey that just chilling out on a farm,’’ said Kent.
The video also features Chloe Marshall 12, a The Voice finalist and regular on Home & Away, plus 24 child dancers.
Kent has just finished a sold-out season of the ATYP production of Spring Awakening and is about to appear in Wicked at Riverside Theatres.
Next year he hopes to start formal drama studies.
“I love sharing stories on a stage — sharing it with both the ensemble and the audience,” he said. “And who doesn’t love being centre stage under a spotlight?”
Kent caught the performing bug from older brother Bradley, 20, who is now studying at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in the UK, while younger sister Poppi, 14, is also keen on performing. All three siblings can sing, dance and act.
“Mum is a music teacher and we’ve alway been surrounded by music,’’ Kent said.
