Mosman swim instructor Kyle Daniels faces child sex abuse charges
Mosman swim instructor Kyle Daniels, 20, is facing charges for allegedly sexually abusing two little girls. His case was heard in Manly Court on Wednesday as his parents watched on.
Two little girls are at the centre of an alleged child sexual abuse case in Mosman.
Swim instructor Kyle James Henk Daniels, 20, from Balgowlah is facing three separate charges: two counts of intentionally sexually touching a child under ten and sexual intercourse with a child under ten.
Daniels was in the cells as his case was heard in Manly Local Court on Wednesday and his parents were there to hear the proceedings.
The alleged sexual touching took place at Mosman Swimming Centre on February 2 and the alleged sexual intercourse took place on February 14 at an unspecified address in Mosman.
Police said the girls were aged 6 and 8.
According to social media accounts Daniels is understood to be a former student at Knox Grammar and is studying at University of Sydney. He is also a twin.
Daniels’s parents sat in the courtroom today tightly holding hands as they waited for the case to be heard. They faced a large media pack as they walked between the courthouse and the police station next door where their son was being held.
Detectives from the child abuse and sex crimes squad commenced an investigation after reports the two girls had been sexually touched on separate occasions during swimming lessons at a Mosman pool, police said.
Following extensive inquiries detectives arrested the man at a home in Balgowlah on Tuesday. He was taken to Manly Police Station where he was charged on three counts and refused bail.
His employment with the swim school was previously suspended. Police said investigations are continuing.
Daniels did not apply for bail.
