Mosman
Don't miss out on the headlines from Mosman. Followed categories will be added to My News.
THESE four tiny paws of steel are preparing to take on the toughest hill in Mosman.
Miniature dachshund Frankie has signed up for the Balmoral Burn with her best friend Jo Little.
And despite appearances Frankie is a champion on Awaba St.
“She’s a pretty fit little sausage,” Ms Little said. “By the end she’s dragging me up the hill.
“She’s looking at me going ‘Come on, hurry up’.”
Frankie, 6, loves racing the big dogs and this will be the third time the pair have taken on the challenge.
They have been going for a walk every day in the run up to the event and will also prepare by sprinting.
Ms Little enjoys taking on the event with Frankie as she is too terrified to do it herself. And she reckons Frankie’s low centre of gravity is her secret.
“I always wanted to do the Burn but I was a bit intimidated,” she said.
“I saw you could do it with your dog and I thought that’s perfect.”
Ms Little advises other dog teams to let their pets go for it and enjoy the race.
The Balmoral Burn is in support of the Humpty Dumpty Foundation.
