New figures have revealed more than 80 people have tested positive for coronavirus on Sydney’s north shore, with one suburb making up more than one-third of the cases.

Data published by NSW Health has revealed the region’s top postcodes for confirmed COVID-19 cases based on a person’s location of usual residence.

The 2088 postcode, taking in Mosman, emerged the region’s hotspot with 30 people testing positive for the virus as of Wednesday.

The figure puts the postcode second only to Bondi’s postcode area where there are 91 cases.

The data shows the most number of cases in Mosman were notified on March 20 with five people testing positive, followed by March 16 with four cases.

Also in double figures was the 2065 postcode, taking in Crows Nest and St Leonards, with 18 cases.

NSW Health said a total of 2298 confirmed cases of the virus had been detected across the state on Thursday with people aged 20-29 accounting for 502 cases.
