Pub fare gets a lift thanks to the team at this Mosman institution. The Buena Burger is a must have with it’s juicy wagyu and layers of bacon, cheese and special sauce. Come back again to try the BBQ pulled pork burger.

Five Points, North Sydney

Prepare to queue for your lunch at this busy spot. Five Points knows the secret of cooking perfect New York burgers and it doesn’t get better than this. The medium-rare Bronx comes with melted American cheese, sour pickles and crisp iceberg.

The Fernery, Mosman

Come for the rooftop atmosphere and stay for the food. The Fernery Burger is a highlight on the menu with it’s sweet potato patty layered with capsicum pesto, watercress and beetroot.

Johnny Bird, Crows Nest

Every plate is an Instagram star. Johnny Bird is famous for free range fried chicken but also does a mean burger. The Sticky Ricky with Szechuan sauce is a top choice.

The Union Hotel, North Sydney

The burgers are so good here they have won awards. This French-style bistro serves it’s own special sauce on the classic beef burger. The veggie option is another menu favourite.
