Wauchope: Man suffers serious fractures following trail bike fall in remote area of national park

A 59-year-old man is in hospital after suffering serious elbow injuries and fractures following a trail bike riding incident north west of Wauchope.

A 59-year-old man has been flown to hospital after falling from his trail bike in a remote area Werrikimbe National Park northwest of Wauchope.

Paramedics and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter critical care team were called to reports of a man who was suffering serious fractures and injuries to his elbow.

He was located at about 11.30am on Tuesday.

It is not yet known whether there was anyone else riding with him.

A Westpac Rescue Helicopter spokesman said paramedics were able to reach the man by road, despite the remote location.

He was stabilised and flown to Port Macquarie Hospital in a stable condition for further assessment and treatment.

The spokesman said his injuries where not life threatening.
