A primary school teacher accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl has had his bail conditions varied in court. Timothy Benson, 27, will now only be required to report to Port Macquarie police on Mondays.

A Port Macquarie who allegedly sent sexually explicit material to a girl online before sexually assaulting her twice, has had his bail conditions varied in court.
Former Wauchope Public School teacher Timothy Benson, 27, has been charged with two counts of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl he allegedly met online.
The Port Macquarie man, who did not appear in court today, had been up until today reporting to police twice a week since he his arrest on September 4.
That condition was varied to just one day a week today.
He will, however, still be required to adhere to a range of other strict bail conditions which include not using social media, remaining within the Port Macquarie-Hastings area, not contacting his alleged victim or coming into contact with anyone under the age of 16.
Benson was arrested at a Port Macquarie home in September following an investigation by detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad.
A 14-year-old girl allegedly reported to police that she had been sexually assaulted by Benson.
Police claim Benson met the child two years ago, when he started chatting with her through a social media application.
He allegedly began sending sexually explicit material to the girl before sexually assaulting her on two occasions between July 2018 and June 2019.
He was taken to Port Macquarie Police Station and charged with two counts of have sexual intercourse with a person aged between 14 and 16.
Investigations are continuing. He will reappear on December 17.
