Taree: Fast-food delivery driver, employee threatened with baseball bat

Police are appealing for the public’s assistance after two people where threatened with a baseball bat and knife at a fast-food outlet on the Mid-North Coast.

Police are hunting three people involved in the armed robbery of a Mid-North Coast fast-food outlet.

About 9.50pm on Sunday, three men attended a fast food restaurant on Victoria St, Taree, when one of the men approached a 17-year-old delivery driver parked outside the store and threatened him with a knife.

The other two men entered the store and threatened a 20-year-old male employee with a knife and a baseball bat, demanding cash before fleeing the scene in the delivery driver’s yellow Ford Falcon.

Officers from Manning-Great Lakes Police District attended a short time later and established a crime scene.

The men were all wearing dark clothing with their faces covered at the time of the incident.

An investigation has been launched into the incident, and anyone who may have information which could assist detectives or who may have dashcam footage from the surrounding area between 9.30pm and 10pm, is urged to come forward.
