Spring Ridge stabbing, house fire: Police arrest men at Coonabarabran Rd, Spring Ridge and man, 26, at Tamworth
Police are investigating a violent break-in, which saw a woman assaulted and stabbed in northern NSW while her home was allegedly set on fire by three men who have since been granted bail. Here’s what’s known.

Three men have been granted bail after they were charged over a terrifying alleged break-in, which saw a woman stabbed and assaulted as her home was set on fire.
Emergency services were called to a home on Kingston St, Spring Ridge — near Tamworth — after reports of a stabbing and house fire just after 10.30pm on Tuesday, March 5.
“The occupant of the home – a woman aged 58 – was assaulted and stabbed, and her home deliberately lit by a group of men before they fled the location,” a police statement reads.
She was taken to Tamworth Hospital for treatment of a wound and burns.
Fire and Rescue NSW later extinguished the blaze but the home was destroyed.
Oxley Police District investigators established Strike Force Leie to investigate the stabbing and house fire.
Police arrested a 26-year-old man at Tamworth airport in the evening of Sunday, March 10.
He was charged with aggravated break and enter, wounding in a break and enter, reckless wounding in company, damaging property by fire and damaging property by fire with the intent to injure.
Police have now arrested and charged two more men over the incident.
Officers attended two homes on Coonabarabran Rd, Spring Ridge, where they arrested a 30-year-old and a 31-year-old just after 8.30am on April 16.
They were both taken to Gunnedah Police Station.
The older man was charged with aggravated break and enter, wounding in a break and enter, reckless wounding in company and damaging property by fire.
The 30-year-old was charged with aggravated break and enter, wounding in a break and enter, reckless wounding in company, damaging property by fire and damaging property by fire with the intent to injure.
The two older men appeared at Armidale Local Court and were granted conditional bail. They are next due to face Tamworth Local Court in June.
The 26-year-old was also granted conditional bail to appear and is due to appear at Tamworth Local Court on Wednesday, June 12.
