Detectives believe Ms Ridley was camping at Neil’s Reserve on Murray River Rd in Walwa from the October 26-27 2019.

Areas surrounding the camping location will be searched by the New South Wales Police Dog Unit this morning.

Wodonga Family Violence Unit Detective Leading Senior Constable Andrew Leonard said it was understood that there were up to four additional camp sites in the area at the time and appealed for those who were there that night to come forward.

“To date we have only spoken to one of those campers and would really like to hear from the others that were in the area at the time,” Sen Constable Leonard said.

“It’s been 12 months since Ruth’s disappearance even the slightest detail could be of significant assistance to help us ascertain what has occurred.”

Her estranged husband, Gary Ridley, 61, was found dead in her car a short distance from the border on October 29, 2019.

The pair had recently separated but decided to go camping together on October 26, 2019.

Police are treating Mr Ridley’s death as suicide.

The couple had been together for more than 40 years before they separated.

She was last seen at a supermarket in the Albury area.

The investigation remains ongoing as Victoria Police prepare a report for the Coroner.

Anyone with information are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
