A Port Macquarie woman with various media and horse training ventures has been charged with electronically recording a sex act involving several men without their consent.
Ruby Campbell Macarthur, 24, has been charged with intentionally distributing an intimate image without consent and intentionally recording an intimate image without consent.
The intimate image allegedly electronically recorded was a “sex act involving five to six males”, police state in documents tendered to Port Macquarie Local Court.
It’s alleged offending occurred in the Port Macquarie region in October.
She appeared in court on Wednesday dressed in a white pant suit, high heels and dark sunglasses, which she was told to remove as per court regulations.
The defence indicated Macarthur would apply and attempt to have the case dealt with under mental health legislation.
But Magistrate Georgina Darcy was not prepared to adjourn the case unless there was some indication of a plea, in case the bid to have it diverted was unsuccessful.
The defence told the court Macarthur intends to plead guilty if the application is unsuccessful.
Ms Darcy adjourned to January 25.
