A good Samaritan has helped a man suffering significant facial, back, shoulder and leg injuries seek medical attention — now local police have been left to investigate what happened.
According to authorities, a 35-year-old man was able to wave down a passing motorist just before 3pm on October 15 along Loftus Rd, Belmore River, 40km south of South West Rocks.
When the motorist stopped, they saw the man had significant facial injuries and contacted emergency services.
A short time later Police and NSW Ambulance attended a rural property on the same road where they assisted with the man’s injuries.
He was then airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.
Local police have since established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man’s injuries.
As investigations continue, anyone who may have information which could assist detectives is urged to come forward.
Anyone or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage from either Loftus, Crescent Head, or South West Rocks roads should contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
