A Port Macquarie man is more than one and a half million dollars richer after winning big – and then doubling it – in the Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw.

A Port Macquarie man is more than one and a half million dollars richer after winning big – and then doubling it – in the Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw.

The surprise was twice as nice, with two division one wins in the single ticket he purchased from Clifton Newsagency in Port Macquarie.

The winning numbers in the Monday & Wednesday Lotto he entered – draw 4169 on 30 March – were 20, 21, 13, 11, 16, 18, with supplementary numbers of 28 and 30.

The draw’s division one prize was $800,000, but the Port Macquarie man’s ticket had two games with identical numbers, meaning he pocketed $1.6 million.

The Lott turned to social media over a week ago to search for the man, since the lucky winner hadn’t yet come forward.

He confessed he was relieved he hadn’t lost the ticket before he had the chance to check it.

“I’m shaking,” he said.

"We’ll look at buying a new family car, a new home for us to live in and make sure our family is looked after," the Port Macquarie Lotto winner said.

“I’m in complete shock.

“This ticket has travelled with me to the gym, to work, around town.

“I just didn’t get the chance to check it.

“Turns out the wait is worth it sometimes.”

The Port Macquarie man revealed his double division one win was due to the fact he deliberately duplicated games with his special numbers on the ticket.

“I put the same numbers on both lines on purpose,” he said.

“Usually, it just means I might win $40 instead of $20 – I never thought I’d win $800,000 and then see it doubled.

“I’ve been using the same numbers my entire life.

“This just means so much to me and my family.

The winner is already planning on how he’ll spend the money.

“We’ll look at buying a new family car, a new home for us to live in and make sure our family is looked after,” he said.

There were five division one winning entries across Australia in the Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4169, with the local wins being the only ones in NSW.
