The whereabouts of a Mid-North Coast man are still not known two months after he was reported missing from Port Macquarie.

NSW Police and the Mid North Coast Police District have re-appealed for public help to find Brendan Speers, aged 60.

Mr Speers went missing after he was seen on Williams St about 12pm on December 18, 2023. A missing persons report was lodged and there has been sporadic sightings since.

Police said in a statement on Tuesday “his current whereabouts are unknown”.

Officers on the Mid-North Coast received the report “in relation to concerns for (Mr Speers’) welfare” and launched inquiries on December 21 last year.

Police have appealed for assistance again “as his disappearance is out of character”.

It has not been indicated suspicious circumstances are at play or being investigated.

Mid North Coast Police District Chief Inspector Mick Aldridge told reporters in early January there had been reported sighting around Port Macquarie.

He said: “We know he is in the Port Macquarie area through people who have sighted him.”

“Police wish to speak with him to ensure that he is safe,” the senior officer said.

On a December 22 Mid North Coast Police Facebook post appealing for help, the Shine The Light ‘Missing Persons’ Australia group wrote: “We continue to share awareness for Brendan and hoping for some news soon.”

Anyone who may have seen Mr Speers or who has any information should contact Mid North Coast Police District or phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
