Police investigating after man thought to be in 80s dies in crash into tree at Kendall, near Port Macquarie on Thursday

An elderly man has died on scene after his car left the road and crashed into a tree on the Mid-North Coast. Paramedics performed CPR, but he could not be saved.

An elderly man has died on scene after his car left the road and crashed into a tree on the Mid-North Coast.

Emergency services were called to Batar Creek Rd, Kendall – about 35km southwest of Port Macquarie – about 12.30pm.

They found the driver, a man believed to be in his 80s, critically injured.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and CPR was performed, but the man’s life could not be saved.

Police had not formally identified the man as of 5.30pm.

Mid-North Coast Police officers set up a crime scene and will probe the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
