Police chase on highway near Frederickton ends in Stuarts Point Road crash
A teen is fighting for his life after allegedly fleeing from police and crashing his motorbike with an illegal gun on board.

An 18-year-old man is fighting for life after allegedly fleeing from police on the Mid-North Coast and crashing his motorbike with an illegal gun on board.
About 12.40pm on Thursday police detected a motorcycle allegedly speeding on the Pacific Highway at Eungai Creek.
The rider allegedly failed to stop for the police and a pursuit was initiated.
The chase went south along the Pacific Highway to Fredericktown where the motorcycle turned northbound towards Yarrahapinni and crashed on Stuarts Point Road about 1.15pm.
The rider was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to Coffs Harbour Hospital, before being flown to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
Police will allege a prohibited firearm was found in the rider’s bag.
A crime scene was established and a critical incident team from Manning Great Lakes Police District will investigate.
The probe will be the subject of an independent review.
