North Haven alleged roadside drug bust sees meth and over $6k in cash allegedly seized

Police have allegedly seized a trafficable quantity of methamphetamine and more than $6000 in cash during a roadside stop of a man on the Mid-North Coast.

A man has been denied bail over an alleged drug bust where police seized methamphetamine and over $6000 in cash.

Joshua Grant Alan Dempsey, 33, was driving a sedan when he was stopped by officers at 10.15pm on Tuesday on Ocean Drive in the Mid-North Coast town of North Haven.

Police searched the vehicle and allegedly seized 8.37g methamphetamine and $6,660 cash.

Dempsey was arrested and taken to Port Macquarie Police Station.

He was charged with possessing a prohibited drug, knowingly dealing with proceeds of crime, and supplying or possessing prohibited a drug in a trafficable quantity.

Dempsey appeared before Port Macquarie Local Court on Monday and was denied bail.
