A woman was forced to take refuge in a kiosk at a water park near Port Macquarie after her ex-husband lashed out by pushing a clenched fist into her nose.
Brodie Collins has a history of breaching court orders and perpetrating violence against his ex-wife.
During the incident at the Stoney Aqua and Action Park at Telegraph Point around noon on October 14 last year he started yelling at her.
According to documents presented to Port Macquarie Local Court the 33-year-old concreter then “pushed his clenched fist into the victim’s nose”.
She later took refuge at the kiosk with the help of two staff members.
Collins was on a community corrections order at the time after being convicted of common assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm against the same victim in November 2022.
During these assaults he used a crutch and poked it repeatedly into the woman’s chest.
When police interviewed her after this incident she told them she “wanted to give up”.
On a more recent occasion, Collins once again breached the conditions of an apprehended domestic violence order by contacting the same woman on March 27 this year. During the phone call about a family matter he made threats to kill himself.
In relation to the water park incident Collins pleaded guilty to stalking and intimidation, common assault and contravening a restriction in an apprehended domestic violence order.
He also pleaded guilty to breaching the same court order in relation to the phone call during which he threatened self harm.
Collins appeared before Port Macquarie Local Court on Thursday where his matter was adjourned to May 30 for sentencing.
