A northern beaches mother has faced court for allegedly failing to make her 13-year-old daughter go to school.
A northern beaches mother has faced Manly Local Court for allegedly failing to make her 13-year-old daughter go to school.
It is alleged the child did not go to her high school for more than two months.
The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with one count of failing to cause a child to attend school.
The charge relates to a child who attends one of the Northern Beaches Secondary College campuses.
Documents tendered to the court show the Department of Education recorded the child as allegedly not attending the school from October 15 to December 19 last year.
In NSW a parent or guardian can be fined if their child does not attend compulsory schooling.
The case was adjourned until April 30.
