Wheeler Heights teen arrested after allegedly assaulting two NSW Ambulance paramedics

A teen has been arrested after he allegedly assaulted two paramedics trying to help him at a bus stop on the northern beaches.

A teen who allegedly assaulted two ambulance officers trying to help him after he was seen unconscious on the northern beaches will appear in court on Wednesday.

Police will allege the boy became aggressive towards the paramedics who woke him up when they found him behind a bus stop at North Narrabeen late on Tuesday night.

It is understood the boy allegedly spat at the two male paramedics outside the Caltex service station on Pittwater Rd at about 11.45pm.

A member of the public had called triple zero after seeing the teenager, from Wheeler Heights, slumped on the grass between the bus shelter and a garden bed in front of the service station.

Shortly after, officers from the Northern Beaches Police Area Command and NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and tried to help the boy into the back of an ambulance.

Police allege the teen then became verbally aggressive and assaulted two male NSW Ambulance paramedics.

The officers were not injured.

He was arrested and taken to Manly Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of common assault, resisting a police officer in the execution of duty and breaching bail for a previous matter.

The teen is due to appear at Surry Hills Children’s Court via video link.
