THREE unknown thieves have worked together to steal 13 tins of baby formula from a supermarket in Manly Vale.
Between 1.07pm and 1.23pm on Thursday three men entered the store.
The first man entered with a personal trolley and walked out of view of security cameras.
The second man then placed the baby formula in a basket and walked over to the first man, who put it in his personal trolley.
This was repeated several times between the two men.
Meanwhile, the third man was spending his time walking around the store without buying anything.
All the mens then left the supermarket.
They made off with baby formula worth a total of $450.
Woolworths increased its limit from two tins per customer to eight in August, following Coles’ move the previous month, with both supermarkets citing improved supply following years of long-running shelf shortages.
Baby formula is popular among ‘daigou’, or personal shoppers, who buy up stock and resell the products to customers in China at inflated prices. Some daigou can make more than $100,000 a year.
