Harsh new rule for Sydney as NSW records 89 COVID cases

There are three new COVID cases on the northern beaches.

The peninsula has managed to avoid any covid cases in the last four weeks following the Bondi outbreak.

However, NSW Health has now confirmed there are three cases on the peninsula.

They include two in Belrose and one in Allambie Heights.

It comes as alerts were sent out overnight for multiple new exposure sites including a popular bottleshop, a Bunnings, a Woolies, a kebab shop and a shopping centre.

Anyone who attended the following venues at the times listed is a casual contact who must immediately get tested and isolate until a negative result is received.

Last week two northern beaches MPs, Mackellar MP Jason Falinski and Manly MP James Griffin, called for the beaches to be exempt from the lockdown because there were zero cases.
