Sydney Sixers gun and golfer Alyssa Healy winning on and off cricket pitch

Alyssa Healy and Ellyse Perry stunned with a record breaking partnership on the weekend. But Healy had turned heads with another win even before she arrived at the WACA.

She captured headlines for her 100 plus record stand with Sydney Sixers teammate Ellyse Perry on the weekend but it was a sporting feat late last week off the pitch Alyssa Healy found almost more nerve-racking and challenging.

Healy produced a 53-ball 106 – her third WBBL century – to help the Sydney Sixers to back-to-back wins with she and Perry smashing the previous highest partnership with 0/199 from their 20 overs at the WACA.

“I’m fine, surprisingly,’’ Healy said from Perth on Monday.

“It was such an enjoyable day, putting on a good partnership and total was so good for the side. And putting two wins back to back was great.

“We (she and Perry) don’t spend too much time out in the middle together to be fair. But we have played cricket together a long time. Nice to be there with her on her birthday and have a bit of a hug.’’

Last week Healy gave her mind and body a break from cricket when she took to the links to win the women’s championship at Sydney’s Long Reef Golf Club.

“Thursday was pretty fun. A really good day. I really enjoy my golf. It switches me off,’’ Healy said.

“I am so far out of my comfort zone playing golf I think it will be good for my cricket.

“I was probably more nervous standing over a couple of putts than going out to bat for Australia.’’

Despite her memorable weekend, Healy said on Monday she has not been happy with her recent form in the WBBL.

“I don’t feel like I have been hitting the ball as well as I have been the last 12 months,’’ she said.

“This weekend I was starting to feel better.

“My mind is a little tired. But it all went well yesterday. Hopefully I can learn from that.’’

Healy last week confirmed she will remain a Sixer until the end of 2022 after signing an extension with the club.

The Sydney Sixers moved into the top three on the WBBL ladder after wins over the Melbourne Renegades and Melbourne Stars in Perth.

This weekend the Sixers return to North Sydney Oval for a game against defending champions Brisbane Heat.
