A woman who was pulled over for speeding in a luxury SUV on a Friday night out on the northern beaches — and then blew three times over the limit — has appeared in Manly Local Court.

Stephanie Alexis Pizarro, 31, of Avalon Beach had been having dinner with visiting family members at Newport when she got behind the wheel of a relative’s Porsche Macan.

But Pizarro, who told police she had downed a “few” vodka and soda waters, with her hamburger and chips, was soon spotted by a police patrol car on Barrenjoey Rd.

The court heard on Wednesday that the officers pulled her over for speeding “well above” the signposted 50km/h limit.

There was a man in the front passenger seat.

In a facts sheet tendered to court police stated that Pizarro smelled strongly of alcohol, had red, bloodshot eyes and was slow in her interactions with the officers.

She blew 0.162. Pizarro pleaded guilty to high range drink driving.

Ms Pizarro, who decided not have a lawyer represent her, told Magistrate Robyn Denes that family had been visited from western Sydney and they had gone out for dinner in Newport.

“I was having a good time … I was happy,” she said.

“I made a decision that I shouldn’t have.

“It was in the heat of the moment.

“I was five minutes from my house.”

Ms Pizarro said she regretted her decision to drive.

“I’m aware that I put myself and my passenger in danger.”

Ms Denes reminded told Ms Pizarro that the she was three times over the limit and police had stopped her for exceeding the speed limit.

She also told her that the community, as a whole, should be taking a zero tolerance approach to drink driving.

“It has to stop.”

Pizarro was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined $1200.
