SEA Eagles prop Siosaia Vave has revealed that he has received a formal offer from the Parramatta Eels and the powerhouse forward is poised to sign with them for next season.

The front-rower, who has been a revelation coming off the bench for Manly this season, said he had also had a few discussions with Manly coach Trent Barrett over the past couple of weeks.

Vave is yet to receive a formal offer from the Sea Eagles for the 2017 season.

“We’ll see what happens. Hopefully, I’ll get to stay,” Vave said.

“I love what the club is about and I love Manly.

“They have a good calibre of players and you want to build something with blokes like Jake Trbojevic and Addin Fonua-Blake.

“But if it doesn’t work out, that’s football.”

Vave, who will again come off the bench in Jamie Lyon’s big farewell to Brookvale Oval on Satutrday afternoon against the in-form Canberra Raiders, has been pleased with his form for the Sea Eagles this season.

“There are still things I need to work on. Obviously, I want to be a starting player,” he said.

Vave has undergone a huge transformation from the player who was given an ultimatum by Barrett before Christmas that if he did not lose weight he faced being cut by the club.

He changed his diet and embarked on a rigorous training regimen to save his career.
