Grand finals pull in massive crowds

CROMER Park was heaving last weekend when the Manly Warringah Football Association hosted the men’s and women’s senior finals.

Games were played across five pitches as well as across the road at the Cromer High Campus, with the level of passion in each decider clearly evident.

MWFA general manager Jeremy Toivonen said the level of football reflected just how strong the world game is on the peninsula.

“It was great to see so many smiling faces and big crowds across two of our biggest days in the calendar year,’’ he said.

“Thankfully, Mother Nature was kind to us and while some teams had to win and others had to lose, finals day is always a tremendous experience for all involved.”
