A four-car crash on a major northern beaches commuter route severely disrupted morning peak-hour traffic today.
The nose-to-tail accident on Warringah Rd at Beacon Hill left a small hatchback crushed between a tipper truck and delivery van.
Two westbound lanes, near the intersection with Daines Pde, were closed for more than an hour after the accident that occurred just before 8am.
Traffic was queued back to Dee Why as NSW Fire and Rescue officers cleaned up significant leaks of oil and radiator fluid from the damaged vehicles.
The hatchback, pinned between the van and tipper truck, suffered severe rear and front end damage.
Authorities reopened the lane soon after 9am.
No one was injured in the collision.
