A man from Sydney’s northern beaches will face trial over grave allegations he sexually abused a three-year-old and both produced and possessed child abuse material.
Simon Robert Tiffen was charged with a string of offences in 2020 related to allegations he abused a toddler at various locations in Sydney’s north.
Police will allege Mr Tiffen assaulted the three-year-old boy four times at Warriewood on the northern beaches in April 2018.
The court heard police would further allege Mr Tiffen produced child abuse material in 2018, and was allegedly found in possession of two external hard drives with photos and videos of child abuse in March 2020 when he was arrested in Newport.
Mr Tiffen was ultimately charged with four counts of assault with an indecent act against the three-year-old boy, one count of producing child abuse material and three counts of possessing child abuse material.
He appeared before Judge Dina Yehia at Sydney District Court for arraignment on Friday, where he pleaded not guilty to all eight charges.
Tiffen will now face a District Court trial over 10 days to commence on November 1 this year.
He is currently on bail ahead of his trial.
