Disturbing footage has emerged on social media showing the moment a woman appears to throw multiple punches at another motorist.
Dated last Friday, the dashcam footage — which has so far attracted more than 8000 views on YouTube — shows a silver hatchback travelling in the middle lane of a three-lane stretch of Pittwater Rd, while heading south in North Manly.
Being trailed by a blue car, the hatchback briefly changes over to the left late before returning to the middle lane and stopping at the traffic lights, at which point the hatchback is now behind the blue vehicle. The dashcam footage — filmed from a vehicle in the far right lane — then shows the female driver of the hatchback exit her vehicle, which has a provisional driver’s licence plate attached to it, and calmly walk to the car in front of her.
She then opens the car door before appearing to throw a barrage of punches at the driver.
After attempting to slam the victim’s door shut, the woman can be seen returning to her own car.
But just as she is about to enter her own vehicle, footage shows the woman instead return to her victim’s car, where it appears she attempts to attack the driver again.
Fortunately is seems the driver is able to evade further punishment by driving off.
Northern Beaches Police have examined the footage and have called for the victim of the attack to come forward.
Crime Manager Mick Boutouridis said officers were also keen to speak to any person who witnessed the incident.
“At first glance, the incident appears to be atrocious, criminal behaviour,” Chief Insp. Boutouridis said.
“But we are seeking help from the community so we can speak with the people involved and find out what has occurred.”
