IS this a sign that the attack of the drones will soon be upon us?
Probably not — but it’s not every day one of the flying devices crashes down into a residential pool.
That’s what happened to one Beacon Hill family, who got the shock of their lives when they spotted a drone in their pool a couple of weeks ago.
“Maybe it’s part of a conspiracy theory,” homeowner Greg Chappell-Bond joked.
“We thought somebody had been flying it, they misplaced it and it dropped into our pool.
“I think somebody will get their bum kicked if they’ve borrowed the drone and not told the owner.”
Mr Chappell-Bond and his family weren’t at home when the drone landed in the Aperta Place property.
The family have attempted to find the drone’s owner through a post on the Northern Beaches Buy, Swap, Sell Facebook page.
So far nobody has claimed it.
“Nobody has come back with any sort of comment,” he said.
“I think somebody is still afraid to tell the real owner what has happened.”
Instead of a drone, Mr Chappell-Bond said he hoped it was instead $100 bills that ended up in his pool next time around.
