Access to driveways, kerbside parking and bus stops will be affected by lengthy road works along a major traffic route through the northern beaches.
Motorists will also be disrupted by the night work along two sections of Barrenjoey Rd running from Mona Vale to Palm Beach.
Work to replace asphalt and road markings, between Neptune Rd at Newport and Park St at Mona Vale, will begin on July 28 and last at least nine weeks.
Similar work has started at Palm Beach where Barrenjoey Rd is being resurfaced from Palm Beach Wharf to the eastern end of Palm Beach Rd. Work is scheduled to finish by July 31, weather permitting.
Roads and Maritime Services confirmed that the road maintenance projects would affect access to driveways and bus stops.
“But traffic controllers will be on site to provide residents with driveway access and direct customers to temporary bus stops nearby,” a RMS spokesman said.
“Street parking will also be restricted in sections while work is carried out, but signs and traffic controllers will be in place to direct motorists to alternate parking areas.”
The work between Mona Vale and Newport will be carried out over 36 night shifts.
All work will be carried out between 8pm and 5am, excluding Friday and Saturday nights.
RMS has also announced that pedestrian safety will soon be improved at intersections on the northern beaches with work starting to upgrade traffic lights.
The RMS spokesman said the improvements are being carried out as part of the NSW Government’s Pedestrian Protection Program which aims to improve safety for pedestrians at intersections.
“Work will be carried out from this week at the intersections of Oliver and Lawrence streets at Freshwater, Barrenjoey Rd and Bassett St at Mona Vale.
