THIS week’s Foodie Friday has put together BYO deals at three peninsula restaurants.
Contemporary fine-diner Clareville Kiosk has a selection of European and boutique Australian offerings on its wine list but also has BYO options on Wednesday and Thursday nights.
It had been a big hit, restaurateur Nathan Boler said.
The restaurant charges $6 a head for BYO to try with dishes from the two- and three-course set menu.
Clareville Kiosk has a new dish every week. One of its recent entrees – lamb sweetbreads, duck dumpling, fennel and gooseberries – has become a favourite.
It is BYO every night at one small arcade right in the centre of Manly. Manly Thai Gourmet charges $1.50 a head for corkage.
Since opening in 2008, co-owners Nat Sithiwongsarat and Sam Noiwangkhang have established a dedicated following.
The banana flower salad is one of the restaurant’s go-to dishes. And the signature dish was a royal favourite, co-owner Mr Noiwangkhang said.
Trippas White Group’s upstairs beachfront venue The Avalon On The Beach at Avalon Surf Life Saving Club also does a BYO night on Wednesdays.
Customers can bring a bottle to sample with dishes such as spice-rubbed flat iron steak, grilled corn, chipotle and salsa or confit salmon.
Dinner is from 5pm and the BYO option has no corkage charge.
