Police allege bottle and frying pans thrown at man and woman punched in face

A MANLY has been charged after police allege he threw two frying pans and a beer bottle in a bust-up in the kitchen of a Mona Vale home.

TWO frying pans and a beer bottle were allegedly used in a bust-up in the kitchen of a Mona Vale home which police say resulted in the assault­ of a man.

A knife was then allegedly used to intimidate the victim. Police said a 49-year-old man from Manly went to a unit in a block on Pittwater Rd at Mona Vale at 5am on Saturday and began arguing with a man who was in the unit at the time.

The Manly man then allegedly­ threw a beer bottle at the other man and then threw two frying pans, on all three occasions allegedly striking the man. The victim was not seriously injured.

Northern Beaches crime manager Insp Craig Wonders said the Manly man then picked up a knife from the kitchen and allegedly used it to threaten the other before leaving.

Insp Wonders said the Manly man returned to the scene on Saturday afternoon. He said the man allegedly punched the female occupant of the unit in the face before leaving.

According to police, the Manly man then went to the home of the man he had allegedly­ attacked in the morning and tried to force entry to his unit but failed.

Insp Wonders said the victims of the alleged assaults suffered cuts and bruises.

Both alleged victims reported­ the incidents to Northern Beaches police, who immediately began investigating­.

On Tuesday the Manly man was arrested and taken to Manly police station for questioning.

He was later charged with aggravated break and enter with intent to commit an assault­, being armed with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intimidation and using a phone to harass.

The man will appear in Manly Local Court at a later date.
