An 88-year-old man who allegedly fired a bullet into his Sydney neighbour’s home — belonging to Sea Eagles NRL coach Anthony Seibold — has been hit with a string of firearms charges.
A number of bullet holes were discovered around the home in Pitt Rd, North Curl Curl, on Tuesday night.
The garage door had been hit and a number of bullets had been shot through a wooden fence.
There was also evidence that a bullet had grazed an external wall of the house.
Police searched a neighbouring property and allegedly discovered a .22 calibre pistol, a muzzle-loaded double barrel rifle and a box of ammunition.
The elderly man, who lives at the property, was charged with firing a firearm in a manner likely to injure persons/property, two counts of possessing an unauthorised firearm and two counts of not keeping a firearm safely.
Police will allege in court that the elderly man did not hold a licence to possess the guns, firearms or ammunition.
Seibold told Channel 9 news that the charged man was a “lovely neighbour” and that “unfortunately” a bullet “went through the garage”.
The man is expected to appear at Manly Local Court on March 5 2025.
