A Northern Beaches man will remain behind bars after allegedly trying to arrange sex for a nine-year-old girl.
Pieter Bezuidenhout, 43, faced a charged of accessory before the fact to an attempted sexual intercourse with someone under the age of 10.
He appeared in Parramatta Bail Court on Friday wearing a navy blue tradie shirt and spiked hair with blonde highlights.
Police will allege detectives from Strike Force Trawler began speaking with the Scotland Island resident in February.
They will allege Bezuidenhout believed he was speaking with the 40-year-old relative of a nine-year-old girl.
The conversations allegedly included discussion of sexually explicit acts the male relative could also perform on the child.
It will also be alleged he sent sexually explicit material on numerous occasions.
He was arrested at a business in Veterans Pde at Collaroy Plateau at 11.30am on Thursday.
Soon after Bezuidenhout was arrested, detectives searched a house on Scotland Island, where they seized several electronic devices for forensic examination.
He will reappear at Central Local Court on Wednesday.
