HSC students have ‘really excelled’ despite a challenging few years

They’ve done it again — Northern Beaches Secondary College Manly Campus has topped the NSW HSC rankings on the peninsula.

The selective school at North Curl Curl landed at number 19 overall in the 2022 HSC list of 585 schools across the state — dropping from seventh place last year.

Its 145 students, who sat for a total of 828 exams, ended up with 330 Distinctive Achievers — those who had a score of 90 per cent or more in an exam.

Of the 20 local high schools with students who sat for their end of Year 12 exams, about half of them managed to climb up the in rankings from 2021.

One of the biggest improvers was Mackellar Girls at Manly Vale, which ranked 85 overall, and high on the list of non-selective public schools in the state.
