Northern beaches HSC school rankings 2020

Some schools have ratcheted up the HSC league tables this year while others have suffered dramatic drops. SEE HOW YOUR SCHOOL RANKED

They’ve done it again — Northern Beaches Secondary College Manly Campus has topped the NSW HSC rankings on the peninsula.

The selective school at North Curl Curl landed at number 13 overall in the 2020 HSC list of 585 schools across the state, the same position it held last year.

Its 137 students, who sat for a total of 805 exams, ended up with 362 Distinctive Achievers — those who had a score of 90pc or more in an exam.

Of the 20 local high schools with students who sat for their end of Year 12 exams, the majority of schools managed to climb up the in rankings from 2019.

Mackellar Girls at Manly Vale, which ranked 43 overall, was the second highest ranking non-selective public school in the state. Its overall ranking in 2019 was 91.

Davidson High School was another improver, leaping an impressive 95 places in 2020 to sit at 122 on the ladder while Pittwater High (161) and Barrenjoey High (162) both jumped more than 40 places on 2019.

St Lukes Grammar at Dee Why grabbed second place on the local HSC list with an overall ranking of 24 — up from 28 in 2019.

Coming in third on the northern beaches was Mackellar Girls (43), followed by Balgowlah Boys High with an overall ranking of 60.

In fifth place was St Augustine’s College in 66th place on the NSW list, an improvement of 12 places on the previous year.
