But Health Minister Brad Hazzard and the Roads and Maritime Services told the Manly Daily works around the hospital would not be impacted.

It follows delays of at least a year to the two-part road upgrade in Frenchs Forest, previously slammed as “woeful” by Mr Hazzard.

“I think every one of us, as residents on the beaches, know how frustrating it has been to see the lack of speed applied to the construction of what will be amazing new roads at Frenchs Forest,” Mr Hazzard, also Wakehurst MP, said.

“It was therefore quite concerning for all of us to hear that one of two partners had got themselves into financial bother.

“My big concern particularly was just to make sure the necessary parts of the roadworks is open for our new hospital when it opens come October 30 and I have been given absolute assurance it will not impact timing at all.”

It is believed york made up about 30 per cent of the joint venture.

A spokeswoman for Ferrovial Agroman said: ‘Ferrovial Agroman are committed to delivering the Northern Beaches Hospital Road upgrade and meeting our contractual obligations.

“Despite recent administrative changes, we anticipate no effect on site progress and remain confident that our experience will allow us to safely realise project completion.

“We will continue to work with RMS, the New South Wales government, our staff, contractors and the community to minimise impact to residents and road users during this time.’

An RMS spokeswoman said they had “put an immediate action plan in place to ensure those affected by the voluntary administration are given their entitlements”.

“York Civil had been engaged by Roads and Maritime on three projects including the Northern Beaches Hospital road upgrade, Schofields Road upgrade and the Princes Highway upgrade near Bega.

“The voluntary administration will not impact on the delivery of those projects. While the circumstances of each project is different, RMS is taking the appropriate steps to ensure the subcontractors entitlements are met and the projects are completed.

“RMS is speaking with each subcontractor involved to advise them on the next steps.”
