On the Coles’ internet Covid update page, and in a notice outside the supermarket, management confirmed that a “customer who has tested positive for COVID visited our Coles Warriewood supermarket between 10:19am and 10:39am on Friday, July 23.

“In accordance with advice from NSW Health, all customers who were at the store during this time are asked to seek a COVID-19 test immediately and isolate until they receive a negative result. Additionally, NSW Health advises that if customers receive a negative test taken before 28th July 2021, they should wear a mask around others and limit their movement until receiving a second negative test result taken on 28th July 2021 or later.

“Coles’ standard cleaning procedures comply with the Federal Government’s COVID-19 Hygiene Practices For Supermarkets and frequent cleaning and sanitisation has occurred (as well as a comprehensive deep clean) in the time since the customer was last on site.”

It comes as three staff and a contractor of Woolworths in Glenrose Village Shopping Centre were confirmed Covid cases last week.

It resulted in thousands of shoppers being alerted by NSW Health to self-isolate and the store to close for a third deep clean.

Another supermarket in the centre, Aldi, also closed for a deep clean.

A number of people who travelled on buses in the area were also later found to have been infectious with Covid.
