A 16-year old has been arrested after he allegedly assaulted and robbed a 47-year old man he arranged to meet on an online dating app.

A 16-year old has been arrested following an investigation into assaults by teenagers on men who they arranged to meet via online dating apps.
Police were called to a park on Abbott Road, North Curl Curl, following reports of an assault at about 12.45am on January 22.
Upon arriving on at the park, the 47-year-old – who had arranged to meet with a male on an online dating app – was attacked by a group of people who also allegedly stole his belongings before fleeing the scene.
Detectives commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and established Strike Force Dividing to inquire about assaults committed by juveniles on adult males who they arranged to meet via online dating apps.
The 16-year-old boy was arrested at Manly Police Station on October 22.
He was charged with robbery in company and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime.
The 16-year-old boy was granted strict conditional bail to appear before a Children’s Court on November 20.
