NEW House Rules judge, northern beaches architect Drew Heath, has revealed he his one decorating pet hate. He also reveals he doesn’t really watch TV..

Acclaimed architect Mr Heath was plucked from his quiet life living in a beaches cottage.

WE won’t be inviting new House Rules judge Drew Heath into our house any time soon.

Because the acclaimed Avalon architect, 48, revealed he has a big problem with a typical. decorating style.

“The colour feature wall. It’s the thing that can go the most wrong,” he said.

“You’re about to make this big statement, you’re putting all your eggs in one basket.

“You decide fluoro pink is going to be amazing and it never is.”

An acclaimed architect, Heath was plucked from his quiet life living in a beaches cottage which has a starry connection, to appear on the show.

His rental property was home to film industry pioneer Pat Lovell, who produced some of Australia’s best-loved classic films, including ­Gallipoli and Picnic At Hanging Rock.

But Mr Heath said he rarely watches TV, and the first series of The Block is the only property show he’s seen.

“I did screen tests for other things where they randomly called me up and said would you like to try out for this.

“I said ‘yes’ to anything I was interested in doing something different.

“Channel 7 rang up all of a sudden I’m a judge on House Rules.”

Heath called fellow new judge, flamboyant Brit, Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen “consummate performer” and claims he flies first class on filming trips, while the rest are in economy.

“As he sits down in first class I walk to the cheap seats,” he laughed.
