A man has fallen three metres from a ladder while working at a northern beaches home.

The 62-year-old tradie sustained head and chest injuries and lost consciousness after his fall.

The accident happened at just before 1pm in Narraweena.

A CareFlight’s helicopter was sent to the scene and landed in Beverley Job Park.

Police escorted CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic to the scene of the incident.

NSW Ambulance paramedics provided initial treatment for the man and CareFlight’s clinical team were with the patient within 20 minutes of being called.

Fire and Rescue NSW was also on scene to help extricate the man from the garden.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic intubated the patient and placed the man in an induced coma to stabilise him.

The CareFlight’s team continued providing care as the man was taken by road in a critical condition with NSW Ambulance to Royal North Shore Hospital.

A spokesman from Royal North Shore Hospital on Thursday said the man was in a stable condition.
